About the event
Pie-baking contest:
Ralston hosts the annual amateur pie baking contest as part of the "Picnic In The Park" on July 3. Pies can be entered in two categories: fruit/berry and other. No cream/meringue/refridgerated pies accepted. Pie crust and filling must be homemade. Pies must have a pie crust. Entry forms are available at Ralston City Hall and Baright Public Library or download HERE. Pies must be at Ralston Park, 80th and Park Drive between 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. in a disposable tin with a completed entry form. Winners will be announced during the picnic. First-, second- and third-place winners in each of the two categories will be recognized. Call Ralston City Hall at 402-331-6677 for more information.
After judging, the pies will be sold by the slice. Brownies and ice cream will also be available for sale. Cash only. Proceeds will benefit the Frank & Velma Johnson Ralston Archives Museum. Donations of fruit pies, not entered in the contest, would be appreciated and will be accepted at the park by 4 p.m. on July 3.
